Motivation .. is What Takes You From a Mediocre Player to the Big Leagues

If anyone knows about motivation it would be me! I was born motivated, and I just kept going. It is one my natural gifts in life.

It would be no surprise to you then if you knew I made an incredible amount of money motivating people. Since it does come naturally I want to share a few of the top things I do to get people jazzed.

Let’s discuss the things you may want to get energized about in Life? Making more money? Helping people? Finding your purpose? Taking Risks? Getting more sales? Closing the deal?

I can motivate you on any of these subjects or one of your choosing. But for now let’s just pick one to focus on. Making more money.

This is a theme that keeps coming up with a number of clients I Life Coach, which gave me the idea for this article. It seems everyone wants to know how to get motivated to make more money.

Getting myself Motivated

One of the first things I do when I motivate other people is I get inspired first. This is easy if I am inspiring you on a subject that gets me fired up.

I want to point out that is a main component. If you love what you’re doing and you love what you’re talking about your motivation around that will naturally increase. As opposed to, you are trying to make something happen because your friend down the street made a killing at what ever it is.

That is your friend down the street. It’s not you. Don’t choose a profession or situations based on how successful someone else is, choose something based on how you feel about it.

Choose something you are passion about

If you feel connected and excited about it, you will be able to get other people to feel the same way. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know anyone who ever succeed at your passion it’s your passion and if you’re into it.. YOU WILL SUCCEED! That I know from experience.

After you have that down, the momentum will flow from there.

Let’s say you are a sales representative and you are selling XYZ service. If you don’t get motivated when you think about the product neither will your prospects.

They will be able to sense in your energy you don’t really believe in this service. They may not know exactly why they don’t want your service, but their intuition is telling them no. They picked up that energy vibe from your true feelings about what your doing.

It’s not what you’re selling it’s how you’re selling it

It’s not the service or the product, it’s the way you feel about the service or product that is causing you to have very little motivation.

Now you may be thinking that no one can get excited about the service you are selling because it is third rate at best. If that is true and I was in that position I would find a different service or product that I can get behind.

Please understand here, I have worked as a successful Sales Director and Regional Manager for a few companies in the past and no service or product is perfect.

They all have there moments when things are not flowing as smoothly as you would like. That isn’t what I’m talking about. If you really know deep down that what you are selling is not worth the money or your company can’t really do what they say, don’t try and motivate yourself simply move on.

For motivation and how to find your life purpose click here. Once your there and you have found the area that really gets you jazzed the motivation comes naturally. It will be in your voice, people will sense it in your body language and energy.

When I am motivated that energy and enthusiasm spreads like wild fire, it’s electric! Everyone wants what I’m selling or offering. The reason is who wouldn’t want to feel that great. If I’m energized it must be good. People know what your offering is real; you are not trying to sell them a lie. They can sense this.

A tip on getting your client to want what you’re selling

I will also share with you a step on taking that enthusiasm to the next level. Take your product or service or what ever you are promoting and make a list. Make a list of all the benefits. What is the value of your service?

Then ask yourself, why your service or product stands out. Make sure you can easily convey to your prospect not only how great your product is but why it’s great.

You don’t want to say, “Mr. Customer you have to use this because it’s wonderful.” Instead “Mr. Customer I just left a client’s office and they couldn’t quit raving how our XYZ product helped them increase customer service by 50% and in the first two weeks. Every day I have customers calling to thank me for the great product or job we are doing.”

If you say that with true belief and enthusiasm your prospect will start to actually see and feel how that product will work.

What you are doing here is describing exactly how your service is wonderful. The customer knows what you can do just from your last two senteces. This will generate excitement around your service or product.

Always explain why your service or product is the best. Just saying that falls flat.
