What is New and Hot This Past Week

Hi everyone! This is the part of my newsletter where I fill you in on what I am doing and what is going on in the business world of on line marketing and coaching.

This past month has been so busy I missed a few weeks of getting out my newsletter. I had a wonderful Christmas Eve with my family and then went to Vegas for even more fun. We saw two great shows, The Jersey Boys and Phantom of the Opera. We ate at some top restaurants and stayed at a beautiful suite at the Venetian where I did some shopping and a little gambling. All in all it was a great time.

I did a couple of radio interviews this past month. One with Lourdes about marketing and the law of attraction which will be posted on my website on my about Dawn page and another one on Blog talk radio about how to create the things you want in life with Matthew. To listen to that interview about how to create your ideal life.

Increase your Web Site Traffic Tip #5

I recently started a fun and very popular Twitter contest that is pulling in lots of web traffic. One way to get more clients is to get noticed so take advantage of my Twitter contest and enter it so people know where you are and how to find you. The Twitter contest page is averaging 200 views a day so hurry up and enter. Plus who knows you could win and that means even more exposure. The contest ends January 5, 2009.

**If you want to get more people to your blog you need to find out what your target audience is looking for and blog about that. You can do that by searching key words to see if anyone is looking for that particular subject.

If you see less then a thousand people looking for a key word then you know that blog won’t pull in enough traffic to make it worth your while.

How do you do key word searches? One way is by using Google’s keyword tool. Make sure when you use it that you put the match type on exact instead of broad. You will get a much more accurate count of the people who are searching for any given key words.

This tool will also help you find other key words related to the key word you put in.

The one thing that Google's keyword tool does not do is tell you how many pages you are competing with. That does make a difference if you want to get found by the top search engines on their first or second page. If you know that then you know the odds of you being found on the first couple of pages and whether you want to use that key word or another one that is popular with people searching but not saturated with pages where you can’t compete.
