Being the proud son of a highly decorated Green Beret, and his really smart Latina wife...like many others of my time I had the opportunity to be shaped by the actions and attitudes of people that many consider to be the best of the best...in an open environment, where family and friends of different cultures, political backgrounds, always highly educated in life or school, and with soft spoken duty to country... would visit and mingle in our home, dine on exotic potluck catering, enjoy cocktails and coffee, listen to great music on 33.5 Lp's, and have wonderful conversations. I still idolize my dad, and his "A" Team for how cool & low profile they always kept things....
After some art history at Pan Canal College, surfing, fishing, Clayton Boy rugby, and partying up and down the coast of Panama, I was old enough to start my own journey to becoming a part of that interesting world, in a very similar way as my father...
I experienced and enjoyed 12 honorable years, trained first as a deep sea diver, and then as a soldier. For a few year stint our team learned, trained hard, never complained, lived off the land, and in the moment, all while experiencing the very interesting elements and the wonderful back-country terrain of Utah. We halo jumped out of airplanes with our hair on fire whenever we could get a C-130 ride.....a favorite experience was air way science, and various survival techniques.
All this and much more adventure by 10:00 am, serving this great country with some other crazies of like mind. When time came to pack it in....
It was always a sincere goal of mine to take everything I had experienced and focus it into becoming a person of net-financial worth for myself and my family. In order do that I would have to keep an open mind, in essence go back to school, and study money & taxes to truly understand how they "really" worked.
I put in my time to Corporate America, became a licensed Texas Oil and Gas Broker, and was introduced to the the initial concepts of financial freedom while learning a lot from the former network-marketing business model. I consult for the "Maggellan" residential cruise line project, and founded my own marketing group specializing in working with internet entrepreneurs.
One of the harsh realities that I had to face early on in my corporate career was that having to be in the presence of people that would lie, cheat, or steal, to make money or just look good, made me sick to my stomach. What really puzzled me was how many of those types are actually out there. Too bad.... society dictated no dark after hour meetings by the dumpster! I would not wish some of those experiences on anyone.
Where could I again find that feeling of being on a real team, working next to people again that could be trusted, those wanting to be involved in something bigger than themselves, you know the... people of like mind!!? I guess we just have to keep attracting them to us...don't we?
We just continue to put out there, who we are, what we do, and how we can all do it! But, before we could really begin there was an important piece of unfinished business to take care of.
It was a very distinct pleasure of mine a few years ago to calmly inform a part of Corporate America that I was "Sorry but I have to let you go, after numerous warnings, your lack of meeting objectives and performance standards, and not achieving the written goals we had set for ourselves and our client's, gives me no choice but to replace you.
