There is a way out...
by: Dawn Abraham

Rachel,

Wow it breaks my heart to hear you say I would love to know how it feels to be truly happy. Here is what I know about panic attacks.

They are happening for a reason. It is your body’s way of saying something is up that you are not looking at.

Your subconscious through you body is trying to get your attention. Treating panic attacks with medication will help the symptom but not the over all problem. The over all problem and there is one, stems from your thoughts. What you are telling yourself and most likely what you are resisting.

I want you to really think about this statement.

“What we resist persists.”

Look closely and you will notice that you are resisting something. Instead of wanting to change what is going on in your life so much, try accepting it.

I am talking about true acceptance here, where you are at peace with your life and circumstances. That doesn’t mean you are accepting unhappiness, it means you are accepting the situation for what it is at the moment. You are having fear around something and your reaction to that fear is resistance, hence panic attacks.

I do know a few things about anxiety attacks; I had a few of my own about twenty years ago. I also work with people who have them.

My experience shows when you stop resisting whatever you are afraid of your panic attacks will stop as well. That means you first want to look and see what you are so afraid of. My article on dealing with fear may be of some help here as well.

Another suggestion is reading Eckhart Tolle’s new book “A New Earth” he talks a lot about acceptance and finding inner peace. Another life changing book for me is “The Book of secrets” by Deepak Chopra. Both amazing and powerful books.

Anyone else who has had success with panic attacks I would love to here from you and how you overcame them.

Rachel I wish for you all the happiness and peace the Universe has to offer, you deserve it!

Love and light
Dawn
