Jenn, I used to pull the Tower card all the time. Freaked me out. Until I learned how to see the gift in the shift it was suggesting. Have you ever heard the phrase, "Everything I've ever let go of had claw marks in it"? That was me. Still is, sometimes.
When you feel fear arise in you, try taking a moment to breath in through your nose and send that breath into the place where you're feeling the fear. Your consciousness travels on your breath and the fear you're feeling of the unknown will instantly or gradually dissolve when the light (your conscious awareness), lights it up. It's like walking into previously unexplored parts of your self as a house. At first it's a flashlight and then you find the light switch.
In the dreamwork I practice, the fear is called a Paper Tiger; a brilliant, terrifying image that the you have masterfully created for yourself. The skill revolves around building the courage to approach the tiger, by nurturing intentional consciousness in relation to it, until you realize it's paper thin.
Once you've done that, you can tear through it (simply or aggressively), to claim the gift of power that's always just on the other side. Always. Always.
